Default Skills Assessment

Hi,

Although my wife is the primary applicant and scores more than enough points for a 175 visa, would it be beneficial for myself to be skills assessed?
I currently have trade qualifications and experience in my field of work.

Thanks,

someone else asked the same question earlier - let me find it.

Bugger, cant find it but i'm sure the advise given was that he may need to check what is required by employers and Aussie rules once he gets over there.

Thanks,

My hubbie and I are in a similar position - we decided to let my hubbie do his skills assessment whilst still in the UK because he will get a provisional licence (if he passes) to be able to start work immediately when we (hopefully!) get to Oz.

Otherwise, the way I understand it, he would have to wait until he gets his licence through to start work and I don't think he would be able to apply for it until we got there - therefore, not able to work for a few weeks/months.

Hopefully this will help a little. I'm sure I'll be corrected if anything I've said is wrong.

Good Luck

I'm a cabling project manager for the installation of structured cabling. I'm aware about the ACA licence and the blue cards but just wondered if by being skills assessed I would be able to do the ACA course instead of having to do the run up courses.

Won't matter if you do a skills assessment before you come here. You will still need to get a cabler's licence here in Australia. Save your money and don't bother to do the TRA.
