Skilled Independent - Capital Investment
Skilled Independent Capital Investment
Hi,
I am all set to apply for AUS migration under skilled independent category. Depending on the marks given for english language points (20 or 15 as I'm sending letter from indian uni. stating all instructions were in english for masters degree MCA) I would have either 115 or 110 points. I'm bit confused whether I should select 5 bonus points for capital investment.if i get 115 without bonus points then i don't need to arrange and block $100K for 12 months.
does anyone know whether at the time of application if I don't select bonus option will ASPC ask me later if i don't pass.

In my opinion you should select 5 points for capital investment. Once your application is assesed if you do not need these extra five opints you will not be asked to lodge the funds.
If you do not select the capital investment option and it turns out that you do need the points, then your application may be refused.
This is just my understanding of the situation. Perhaps someone else on the forum could back up or dispute what I am saying?

Hi Mel,
Thanks for reply! I'm also thinking of going for extra 5 points. waiting for some more opinions.

Hi ASA71
I have friends who recently recieved their visa but had to lodge the $100,000 unexpectedly. They thought they had enough points but when their application was assessed they were 5 points short because the 5 points claimed for were for a foreign language but the 'applicant/friend' did not have the necessary qualifications for this. I understand that Dimia sent them a letter saying that they were 5 points short and asked them if they wanted to lodge the $100,000 bond to meet the 115 points. This they did.
I am absolutely convinced that Dimia will not ask you to lodge the funds unless you were short of points even if you had ticked the box. It may be worth mentioning this in your covering letter you send with your application form.
I hope this helps.
