SIR/Recipricol Health Agreements

HELP, We are moving to Adelaide with SIR Visa next month and although I have read much about reciprocal health agreements I am very confused. Some posters on here and adelaidebrits say they pay nothing but get full entitlement?? Can anyone please confirm/deny.
Also I have Bipolar disorder and will need to register with a GP asap, can anyone give any advice on how to register with a GP. Has anyone got any experience of having Bipolar and its treatment upon migration to Australia.

Many Thanks in advance for any advice.:curse:

Really, SIR visa holders can't be described as "visitors" but the rules are not always as strictly applied as they could be.

Coverage is limited.

When a SIR visa holder applies for permanent residence, they get full medicare irrespective of reciprocal agreements.

Bear in mind that even with only limited cover, you are liable to pay the full Medicare (tax) levy.
