Re: Singapore stopover - help running out of time
It looks like Singapore is really full over the next few weeks.
What are the dates you're looking at?
I guess you've already checked Lastminute.com and Wotif?

I've recommended the New Majestic before and i'll do it again! It's not expensive, lovely small hotel, only a couple of stops from the centre of Singapore, staff are just lovely, so accomodating, good breakfast, fab rooms etc etc. On our last day we didn't fly out till midnight. They held our luggage securely all day while we fannied about. When we got back they let us use a (really swanky) bedroom to shower and change before heading to the airport!
Good luck!

This thread is a bit out of date, but there are lots of recommendations, some of which might work for you price wise.

Best of luck with move back.

We need 19th and 20th Aug. New Majestic unavailable. Ibis available but reaching 800aud before we even buy tickets so is going to work out $000's more than we budgeted. Best so far though

Don't know if it's any good but not too expensive

Taken a look at all the suggestions in this link - either unavailable or out of our price range - there's 5 of us. Maybe I should have said cheap rather than not too pricey
My blind faith in Singapore air has been completely shattered by this - they are failing repeatedly to phone me back/email or help me sort this and its all their fault...

I booked stopover flights for my daughter and SIL as travelling with my grandson. We ended up booking hotels independently as well as Singapore were not on the ball at all and just giving us a run around. Not sure what's been booked - I just paid

Have you tried the YMCA - central, and I hear it's quite nice with a pool.

I think you might be close to the Grand Prix, hence the fullness.

Yes but people build a whole holiday around it, so it gets busy either side.

Thank you all so much - SIA website finally played ball on about the 30th attempt - more $ than I planned but still better than it could've been.
Still no phone call from their help lines though despite desperate pleading for help. Not impressed - hope the flights/accom are better than the booking process.

Re: Singapore stopover - help running out of time
Thanks to Singaporeair's useless online booking we are left without a package as planned for just over a weeks time as we are MBTUK with 3 weeks notice I don't have much spare time for research.
Can anyone suggest a hotel suitable as a base - doesn't need to be fancy just friendly, convenient and clean and not too pricey.
I've heard left luggage might be a problem? We are planning to check out normal time but onwards flight isn't til late evening - what should we do with suitcases? Leave them at airport or will the hotel look after them? How easy is getting around and airport transfer?
Also we have an evening, a full day and pretty much all the next day to explore. Ideas for family with 3 boys 8,11,and 13yrs? Universal I'm assuming as they haven't done many theme parks and love them but what else?
