I've just been back to the Uk for my summer holidays and used the online check-in. It asks for you surname and booking/ref no and from there you select your flight to check-in. It has seats already assigned so you either accept them or you can change them. Think you can also select special meals - childrens/gluten free etc

I checked all the seats on the seatguru.com website and was happy with them. When you get to the check-in desk at Heathrow/Manchester you give them your tickets and when they type in your ref no they can see you are already checked in.

I logged on to the site 48 hours before our night flight but it wasn't ready.....so waited until the morning and tried again with no problem.

Yes - we have just come back from Perth and travelled with Singapore airlines - we also did the online check in with no problems - meals and seats were ok too. i just wish that you could choose who sat behind and in front of you. the joys of economy travel.

If you haven't flown with this airline before or in a while they now have on demand tv/film/audio which is brilliant it means that you can watch what you want when you want.

When you book your tickets over the net, you click on a link to select your seats. Not sure you can do it after.

We are also flying Singapore airlines on 31st October but we booked through Trailfinders travel agent - will we also be able to check in online or is this option only available if you booked the flight online direct with Singapore airlines? Our travel agent phoned SA with a seat request but would be great if I could go in and actually try to reserve the seats at some point?

We are flying Singapore on 22nd October to Brisbane. Booked through Expedia. Have had to phone them because although the itenerary said that the tickets would arrive within six days, they haven't. Expedia say they are e-tickets and we should just go to the desk on the day and check in. Do you suppose we will be able to reserve seats on line also before we go?????

Not sure Shelley - i'm also hoping someone can tell us! As far as I know I will be recieveing paper tickets - so I was led to belive as we are also flying BMI from Glasgow - Heathrow.

Anyone know the answer?

We flew with Singapore last year and would definately fly with them again. Checked in online and changed our allocated seats with no probs at all.

Depending on how long you're at Singapore for, go for a swim and shower in terminal one or two, (sorry cant remember which its in, but the kids loved the sky train which is free and takes you from term 1 to 2 in about 10 seconds!)
We had a 6 hour stopover and the duty free is amazing, not too sure hubby was impressed when he got credit card bill though!!!!
