We flew with them in Aug and they were great. Very good with the kids and a constant stream of drinks and food and just checking up on you. The in flight entertainment kept the kids happy for hours!

Good luck with the flight and just try to enjoy it. We did a two hour stopover at Singapore airport and browsed the shops and had a nice refreshing shower and drink and then it was back on the plane for the 2nd leg. We came from a small town not far from Alton, so not far from where you are at the moment. Anyway good luck with it all and hope everything goes well for you.

Singapore Airlines are very good. My husband has flown back to the UK 5 times this year and always books Singapore. The inflight entertainment is good and the service is too. He once flew with Emirates but he much orefers Singapore. I hope you have a good flight.

We flew with them 5 weeks ago and they were ace, especially with our 21mth old who wasn't keen on being strapped in his seat!! Would definately recommend - and book online its cheaper.

Best of luck to you, let us know how you are getting along when you get there, we are heading over on April and sooo excited but also a nervous wreck!!!

We used Singapore airlines last year for a holiday trip and I cant say enough in their favour, they were great, endless food and drink, gave us playing cards, bits for the kids and so on, nothing was too much trouble (or if it was they hid it well!).

Good Luck,
Donna x

great airline!

if you fancy breaking up the journey and helping the jetlag I would thoroughly recommend an overnight stopover in Singapore if you can! that way you get to stretch your legs, give your DVT a chance ;) , and get to see another place! it's also a fun place for the kids as well.

when you book, make a specific request for bulkhead seats. you wont get much more legroom, but at least you wont have people pushing the seats in front of you down. :scared: and the kids can crawl on the floor without too much fear as well.

also, having made this kind of journey myself many times, try and avoid overpacking your carry-on luggage - it's just such a nightmare that isnt worth it. I see people worrying about the weight, dragging huge uncarriable bags around, then they cant fit them in the compartments, and or they cant lift them up or down to get at stuuf.

just really, pack what you need for the flight + important documentation (eg birth, marriage certificates etc) + jewellry/expensive non-cargo stuff. nothing else.

& good luck! ;)

We have flown with them 3 times, just came back from Brisbane last week they are really good. I have flown with most major airlines and they are the best.

Good luck with your new life : :)

Hi

We flew with them last month with 3 kids, (9,7,& 2) and they were fantastic!
When we finally go we will definately be flying with them.

Have you had it confirmed by them that you can take 40kg each as I remember seeing posts on here where people have had problems. (depending on whether you have validated or not!)

Good luck.

They consistently get rated top airline to fly with and justifiably in my experience. The entertainment system is fantastic with 50 films, 150 TV progs and 250 CD's to listen to plus loads of games for the kids to play, all at your own timings.

I recommend the Stopover deal to to get over the jetlag and see wonderful Singapore. (free airport transfers and a hop on, hop off bus). But do the private hop on hop off buses if you want to learn anything about the place - great value.

One word of warning, get something official stating you are allowed 40kg. (I got an email). Despite our travel agent confirming this at the time, check in staff at Singapore kicked up a fuss as we didn't have special fares and others have said the same thing. Just play dumb, stick to your guns and wave the email and you will be okay. They told us to "get a migrant ticket next time we emigrate" ????

Re: Singapore Airlines

We flew with them first time we came out and couldn't fault them. However, elderly family have just flown with them over to see us and thought they were terrible (noodles for breakfast no less - despite there being an English option  )

Mind you I think they disliked most things about being here so I would take anything they say with a LARGE pinch of salt!
