Singapore airlines $1488 fare to London
I read in this morning's paper that SIA are offering $1488 fares from Perth to London. These fares are for flights until, I think, November and are for the peak European season.
Looks like there is a price war coming.

Had a look in SIA.com and the website is typcially flaky.....there is a promo ad mentioning incredible fares to 82 destinations and 'Click here'......which when you do tells you there are no promotions!
Booking conditions:
Final booking and payment date is 17 April 2009. Valid for departures until 30 November 2009. Fares are return, per person and include the price of the air ticket, associated taxes, levies, surcharges and credit card service fee correct as at 16 March 2009. Taxes and surcharges are subject to change due to currency fluctuations. Economy Class fares are not eligible for KrisFlyer mileage accrual.

Interesting. Just tried booking for 10th of July to 24th July - return Sydney to London. Those are some seriously ****ing good prices considering this is SIA we're talking about - and not AirSopwithCamel ...

S H I T. I just paid 10 large to go with Emirates. Damn.
I guess Emirates will have to match SIA - not that it helps me but if they don't I' reckon we'll have the plane to ourselves.

I saw a flight from the UK to Perth with Malaysian Airlines for 170 quid plus taxes.
