Why is the envelope yellow? I know it doesn't matter but because it doesn't matter, it matters

Loads of envelopes of general sale in Aus are yellow - they are stronger than a lot of the white ones; I've noticed loads in newsagents. So I guess its a fairly cheap option, buy them here in bulk!
