It's a short rant. Please bloody stop raining! It's rained all Summer and it's still raining. I hate it.

Ahh but the last 2/3 summers it didnt rain much at all, probably just the drought ending, whats all that el nino gumph, that sorta thing. It will be all right by winter cause when perth, melb etc are getting their rain its usually crystal clear skies and low 20's beautiful for months on end here.

I know the rain was needed but would have loved just 1 more year of drought - just to experience endless dry days - it started raining the day after we got here in June and seems to have rained quite a lot since! It somehow feels worse that you can't really whinge about it!

Yay.. I thought you were gone (the thread).

We've never been short of water here. Perhaps ONE Winter we were on well water.

I hate the flooding. Worse Summer I can remember for weather.

One good thing though, is that the trees and parks are looking very healthy at the moment. I was in the brisbane botanical gardens the other day, they are lovely right now.

Actually we just had a phone call from the tenants, the water has caused a tree to fall across their drivway, they want it removed like er now. R explains he is in brisbane so they asked if I could remove it Must think I am one of these big butch aussie shielas

Yes the big gardens are loving it and it's nice to see grass in Brizzie again.

Your tree (jad n rich) fell because they're shallow rooted here and all the rain can sometimes leave them in mud. The high winds predicted for tonight can add to the problem.

Hope hubby has a chainsaw.. but your tenants might have to wait!

Last big storm we lost three massive trees, fell right over. I guess they must qualify as the shallow rooted ones..

I guess so. All the one's we've cut down (urm, I mean fell down when we leaned against them) were a pig for roots. They weren't going to fall over in a hurry

About 99.99999...% of the country would disagree. Don't worry, when El Nino returns in a couple of years, you'll have more dry weather than you can care about. You'll wish it was raining again.

What about local SES unit or tree-removing contractor, if it is imperitive that it needs moving or at the very least they may clear a path? They have the tools etc.

I would think most of the SES are up the coast a way at the moment. Good job Poll's away otherwise she'd be on duty and they'd have to blame her again
