Default should we book the flights?

We have the pr visa. we have sold the house. no chain. 2 divorcees buying our house, have mortgaga offer. they are in rented. we accepted the offer about 4 weeks ago. survey done, searches underway. everything going ok.
should we book the flights? we have asked for completion on 01.04.04, to fit with school. it will also give us 2 weeks to say goodbyes, then get a flight on 16.04.04 when prices come down.
If the house sale were to fall through at the last min, what would we do, all our money is tied up in the house. If we wait until completion, we might not get the flight we want-help us! :scared:

Live dangerously!

If it fails to go to completion you can instruct a solicitor to sell it on your behalf and most banks would give you a good loan to tide you over (on the strength of the equity) until it really sells.

When are you likely to exchange contracs? I'd go for it but i know my hubby would be more cautious!

Where are you going to as a newbie I don't know!I do remember you worked in Mount Vernon! It's really exciting thinking of everyone going one day it will be us..........

Good luck whatever u decidebut I would not book flights.
Too risky.
Some "unexpected hold-up" often occurs in house sales.

get your solicitor to draw up the exchange of contracts and ask for a deposit, say 10%. exchange as soon as possible making the sale safe as once exchanged they are committed to buy. book your flights using the deposit if required. even if sale is delayed you can still go and money from sale can be forwarded.

Makes sense.

Thing is most people want to exchange and complete on the same day. Well I do anyway

If they are up for it great.

Good luck

If you can afford to cough up a second time for flights then go for it. I hope it all goes through smoothly. Good flights come up all the time.
