hi, i would like to know if anyone has taken their tv's to Aus. i would like to do this but not sure if they will work over there. is it a case of just changing the plugs???
if they do work there can anyone recommend a good company to ship with, would probably use up a whole container. i live in the cambridge area and will be going to perth in october. thanks alot.

I believe that you need a different receiver because they work on a different frequency but I have also been told that they cannot pick up the sound but you do need to do something. I think a way around it though is possibly getting a receiver ie freeview and that will send the picture to your TV.

Do a search through the forum for televisions - one of the most popular question ever

Hi.

If your TV can receive PAL B/G then that's fine for terrestrial reception. A lot of Toshibas (for example) now support PALI, PAL B/G SECAM and NTSC which would make it worth your while bringing one if you have one?

We had to have a crate made our old Toshiba which cost £40 but believe me it is well made and very solid (considering the TV's a 36" CRT, which is HUGE!).

Hi, we bought ours and couldn't get sound, all you need to do is run it through a vcr or if you have cable, through the decoder box and it should be fine! Australia does not use scart leads for some reason so it may be worth you picking up a scar to line cable converter!

Cable from one of my set top boxes is a scart to phono so altho I don't think they're popular over here, they do use em!

Yeah, I agree. We had to buy some specialised "Gecko" composite cables for routing between our HD decoder, DVD recorder and our TV but the guys at Harvey Norman did indicate that it is still possible to use SCART on some devices.
