Default Shipping Insurance & Claims

Well we shipped our stuff and insured it (PSS) most of it arrived safely just before christmas. However two boxes were damaged, one had a barometer in it and the other a VCR and a Sony Hifi all of which, with the exception of the barometer, were damaged beyond economical repair. Total claim came to £950.00 (values as itemised on original insurance proposal form)
We got in touch with insurers who said get quotes etc at their cost, which we did a claaim form duly arrived which we completed and sent back with the quotes and some digital photos and a copy of the notes made by the shipping agent here.
Believe it or not, in todays post a cheque for the full amount less the excess (1% of insured value) so we are impressed.

The insurance co were the ones recommended by PSS.

It seemed expensive at the time but was worth it after all

Hi Paul,

As PSS are currently in charge of all our wordly goods (and our insurance is also with the company PSS recommended), your story is reassuring! Although here's hoping we never have to claim.

PSS are in charge of ours too (although not all our worldly, still valuable to us!). As you say, we hope that nothing gets damaged but it's nice to know if it does there may not be too much of a song & dance about them paying up.
