Default Shipping Insurance

Can any of you tell me how many of you have had to claim on your shipping insurance. Is it worth paying for full cover from your shipping company and is a cheaper option, a false economy? Is it easy to claim on insurance anyway?

Just wondered...

Default Re: Shipping Insurance

I did a lot of research on this myself before we shipped our container...and my conclusion was that there was a cheaper alternative than using the shipping companies insurance. We used Letton Percival (www.lettonpercival.co.uk), who charged us about half of what John Masons would have, for what seems to be the same level of insurance.

Our container arrives in a couple of weeks, so no advice about claiming...but if you do a search for letton percival on the forum, you should find some stuff!

Not really answering your question...but hope this helps
