Letton Percival - so a search on the forum - a lot of people seem to have used them and they are way cheaper.

LP are the company that a lot of the shippers use. The shippers charge on average 3%, direct with LP it's 1.5% for exactly the same cover. Obviously the shippers need to make their profit

Willis, who are a group of large brokers in Australia, provide shipping insurance - think it costs about 2% of value. So, slightly more expensive than LP but policy might be a bit more extensive .. this is stretching my memory, but for example they don't exclude plasma TV'ss, etc., etc., In principle, I would also prefer to be insured in Australia in case anything goes wrong .. much easier to go stamping into a Melbourne office than one in Liverpool :-) and contact the Ombudsman when in dispute.

We used Letton Percival and have no complaints. The forms are very easy to fill in, the hardest part is putting a value on everything, make sure not to over value as this will cost you more, but also dont under value, just incase the worst should happen.

Our container has arrived in Melbourne, just awaiting clearance and then the fun starts!!

Hope this helps.
