Default Shipping insurance

Why bother to insure one's possessions ?
Who really suffers any damage anyway ?
Is the ship likely to sink ?
We are dealing with professionals so what's the point ?

Well, I am sure glad I covered our stuff.
One glass food tray - smashed - so what ?
One wood carver chair armrest broken - can't replace it.
One 32 inch Panasonic widescreen tv - case broken and tv dead as a doornail.

Still checking our stuff but not a good start.
Looks like that insurance policy is gonna be tested.

Oh Bix,

I'm sorry to hear that, and after all this time waiting too. Hope your policy is watertight (oops sorry for the pun - unintentional, honest!).

Make sure you check everything and go for the full value if your policy allows it.

Hope nothing else turns up damaged.

Several people looking at shipping costs at the moment and someone even suggested taking no insurance See above.

You do not have to take the insurance from the company doing your shipping but can still cover it separately. This thread from Ianj tells all.....
