Shipping half a dozen boxes

Shipping half a dozen boxes
2.5 years on from our original move to OZ we have half a dozen boxes of stuff, in a friends garage in UK. Need to ship it to Sydney. Had one quote of £600 which is huge! We only paid £1200 for a one bedroom flat full to the brim 18 months ago.
Any ideas anyone? Can take a year to get here if it needs to, In terms of material value items are not worth much, just sentimental value.
I'm thinking cheap and dodgy ltd.... any suggestions?
