Default shipping extra costs once booked insurance

hi

just about to book our shipping toBrisbane but have noticed discrepencies between itineries. we are still buying things to take and have added items but how do you judge number of boxes etc. we have been quoted for a 40 cu ft and its not being paid by us... will they (doree bonner, john mason) charge for extra even though container not full??

also (cant use capitals as enjoying last few nights of cat sat on lap before she goes to new home so typing one handed!!)

if the company are paying who pays insurance???? who do you recommend to insure our belongings??

thanks for any asdvice and experience

Helen

So who is shipping your stuff? Doree or JM? I would ask your company who pays for insurance....only they will know the answer to that one. If you have sole use of the container then fill your boots with filling it as you pay for the container.

Good luck

Jm working on itinery and not reference cubic footage wheras DB less detail itinery but are working on cu ft which is 2/3 continer - I presume you are also paying for packing boxes etc and that adds time to equation too
though they are allowing 3 days for the total job...

Blimey 3 days...you must have a lot of stuff We had a 20ft container (filled) that left yesterday and JM came in packed and were pretty efficient. We used them for insurance as well. Probably could have got cheaper, but less hassle using the same company for the insurance.

we have two children and crap that goes with them- apart from that usual 3 bed house + study aand conservatory- oh and lots of camping stuff left over from the caravan we just sold.....

JM - £5800 for 40 ft - DB have matched as we prefered them - but they seem more vague about amounts.. JM said container wont be full so pying for exclusive use...

when do you fly??? we hope to ship begining OCt and leave 24th. medical info for 457 reached sydney today so keeping fingers crossed visa comes through monday....

That figure sounds about right. I fly on the 11th Oct with wife and daughter to follow a few weeks later. My 457 was lodged and approved in less than 2 weeks, so good luck with yours.
