Default shipping dog crates

Hi, can anyone tell me about the shipping dog crates from uk to melbourne. I know you need to collect the dog crates when you collect the dogs and I have 3 golden retrievers so the crates are about 44 x 42 x 25 inches.

Now can anyone tell me if the crates are made of wood and nailed / screwed together and can they be flat packed or are they the plastic travelling crate kind.

Many thanks

It's been 8 years since our dogs arrived in Australia, but their crates were wooden (like plywood), nailed together with a metal grid front.

You could take an axe to one, I guess.

We were living in Brisbane when they arrived, dogs were quarantined in Sydney and we used a domestic transfer company to bring them up to us (they arrived in a van, in their crates) so it wasn't an issue for us.

Just shipped our 10 year old goldie the other way (Perth - Manchester). Wooden crate, nailed together, front and back grills, door with 3 bolts, large air holes throughout. Completely fixed - nailed within an inch of its life and no ability at all to gently take apart and flat pack.

We had no use for ours once we got Murphy (goldie) home, so advertised it on Gumtree. Kept reducing the price until it hit 30 quid, then gave up and donated it to an animal shelter (wish we'd thought of that first!). Best of luck.
