Shipping by cu.ft.

We are using Excess Baggage for shipping. They delivered some boxes so that we could pack our books etc. although they will pack all other things. Anyway, their boxes say 2 Ft. on them and yet I measured them and they are actually 20"!

So, when they work out the cu.ft measurements by which you pay, are they working on boxes measuring 2 Ft or 20"? At 2 ft. we are clearly paying a lot more!

Any comments/experience welcome.

Thnx.

To work out cubic feet, you need to measure how long your box is, then how high and then how deep. Then multiply the three measurements together.

For example: if your box is 20" long, 13" deep, and 15" high - that would be 20" x 13" x 15" = 3900 cubic inches = 2.25 cubic feet

(A cubic foot has 1728 cubic inches: 12 x 12 x 12. Therefore 3900 divided by 1728 = 2.25 cubic feet. So, measure lenght, depth and height for your box. Multiply to get cubic inches. Then divide by 1728 to get cubic feet.)

Hope this helps.
