Default Shipping costs any advice?

Hi

Could anyone give us an idea on the cost of shipping the average 3 bed house contents to Sydney from the Uk, we would be shipping from Belfast, but any port would give us an idea what to budget for and roughly what are the shipping times? Any good recommendations would be great for a decent quick company to use.

Thanks

WE are taking nearly everything, excluding drier & wardrobes (didnt use them last time there) costs for shared container 1,520, I was very happy with that! European Van Lines are doing my shipping.

For a 3 bedroom house you are looking at having an exclusive 20ft container if you are taking most of your things (about the size of a single garage).

Exclusive service door to door currently is looking at about 7-9 weeks door-to-door but in terms of your budget this really can vary depending on the company you use (quality wise) and the services you select (i.e. packing, unpacking) access and a whole host of other individual requirements but I know that doesn't help so, dont hold me to it, but ball park you're probably looking in the region of £3500 - £4500 for a full service, quality mover.

My advice would be get in 3 companies to quote, make sure they are all members of BAR Overseas and FIDI so you know they are credible, quality organisations and then compare the three quotes like for like to make sure you're getting the best value for money.

Good luck!

I have got Fox removal and storage coming Monday to pack a 20ft container for £3200. Let you know how they are rated when the job is done. They were the cheapest quote and I had quite a few. They meet all the requirments.

But if you share a container you will either be lucky and be the second part of it so it heads out straight away or you could find yourself waiting until it is full and that could be an extra couple of weeks or so.

We have a three bed house and are taking almost everything, resulting in a full 20 foot container. Surrey to Melbourne
These are the quotations I received last week

Eagle 3250
White & co 3322
PSS 3482
John Masons 3495
Pickfords 3862
Doree Bonner 3895
Cadogan Tate 3895
Crown 4200 (Incd 250 pounds quarantine fee which the others dont)
These prices exclude insurance and quarantine fee

Personally am leaning towards PSS or John Masons at the moment
Good luck!

I'd personally recommend Crown Relocations - you can get a quick ball park quote from them at http://www.moveoverseas.co.uk/contac...ving%20from&p=

Insurance coming from Sydney to UK was through Leighton Perceival a UK Company that was 1%, we had a claim on our car and they provided excellent service.

my goods were packed and is on its way yesterday with Fox removal and storage, 20 ft container £3200. Nearly never happened as we had snow our way. I insured with a company called insureyourmove.com for £210 and that was for £10000 worth of goods. Also included insurance against your shipping costs and mold/mildew. Easy and quick to do on their website and you only itemise items that are worth more than £750.
