just an update, had 5 companies quote and we are going to need a 40 ft container and roughly £5800 for door to door packed service and all had availability for our dates. guessing a 20ft would be about 3000.

Most of the costs are fixed - the same for a 20ft and 40ft container for example a 20ft container can't be collected and delivered by half a driver, driving half a lorry. The admin, paperwork, and related customs fees are also going to be virtually the same for a container no matter the size. If you're paying £5,800 for a 40ft, it wouldn't be much less than £5,000 for a 20ft

Agree with this - I checked my quotes from 3 years ago and we paid just under £4k for sole use 20ft container UK to Adelaide with additional costs on arrival for customs clearance

Anyway great that you got it sorted. And quite interesting too, perhaps suggests that fewer people are moving than in previous years. Good luck with it.

Exciting times - and scary... hope all goes well. We are in the planning phase now too, hopefully before Xmas - have you used a pet company? We've had a quote from Pet Air - they come highly recommended... also which container company have you had quotes from (ta).?

Hi, Yes we are going to use Flypets they have a facebook profile. Been very impressed with them so far.

For 3 Golden retrievers £5400 from heathrow to Melbourne in April. Crates made by them.

Best of luck
