had a few shipping companies in now and all seem to be pretty good,pss and pickfords[who i have heard are in the process of being taken over so i think they will be out] . just had a company called Robinsons who have come out, just wanted to know if any anyone has used them or heard of them as their name has not popped up on this site.

try John Masons - based in Liverpool - got a very competitive quote from them.

Can anybody recommend a company in the Dorset area? We not planning on making the move until July/August next year, but it never hurts to start looking early.

John Masons are a national company - Pickfords were also good but came in at a higher price. Most of these companies to my knowledge let you haggle a bit on price.

We are using leatherbarrows we think, My brother used them two years ago and was happy. They are based near Hurn (Bournemouth) airport, I think they are part of a bigger company.

White & Co are in Southampton..we are using them in August £3200 for a 20' container to ourselves..Use Letton Percival for insurance...loads cheaper than the shipping companies.
