Default Shipping Cars - is it worth it?

I know jap cars are pretty cheap out in Oz, but I heard that BMW's & Mercs go for a premium. IS this still true?

Have a look around this http://carsguide.news.com.au/
It might have something useful. I did notice that the price of an Audi A3 was cheaper in Oz than the UK

MB's & BMW's are very dear still - in fact almost all European luxury cars are more expensive. Some Peugeots/Citroens don't seem too bad by comparison. Be prepared for Import duty, GST and possibly luxury car tax if you want to ship your motor over. If its a relatively new car, you could easily face a tax bill of 25% of what you paid for your car in the UK.

Hi,
Looked into this in great detail, was contemplating taking Merc, hwever shipping/duty etc was excessive at least £9K depending on customs (Aus) valuation of car on arrival.

Seell here and buy there, my advise.
