Hi, i have been offered a job in Perth, should be leaving in about 6-8 weeks but want to take my car with me.

Its a 2006 Subaru Impreza Sti, ive owned it since new so got kind of attached to it. If i sell it in Uk i will only get about 12-13 grand for it but ive noticed in OZ that its worth $35000 so quite a difference.

My question is, how much would i be looking to pay to ship it over? Do i have to pay import tax even though i have owned it so long??

Any info would be great! :)

Which profession are you in? I also lodged for WA SS 176 visa, I am wireless com engineer, and if things workout well I plan to take my car with me but given what you read about the hustle it is also worth to consider the net impact of shipping a car.

Hi. I'm a diesel mechanic so I'm going on a working holiday visa then look for sponsorship once I'm there. I have been offered sponsorship already but the money is not as good as other jobs I've seen advertised. I think it's better to arrive in the country 1st then apply for jobs
