Everybody does it, including us.

No special packaging, no problems at all.

Just don't use big boxes for books etc, they get heavy enough as it is!!!

I'm a bit worried about that too, for when I ship my little library!

I know packers just pack them as normal, but when my parents moved (ok, only to Jersey, but still) they chucked in a load of those little silica packets to suck up any dampness.

Larissa (?) posted something about this ages ago - I'll see if I can find it.

Our 2000 books were packed in cardboard boxes in the container - all arrived in perfect condition.

Same as Lesley, all my books arrived in perfect condition; they didn't even smell damp.

PACK YOUR BOOKS EDGE DOWN , in at small carton lined with a , self seal plastic garbage bag, if the container leaks , at least your books will be safe. .......... mm

Sound advice on moving books...excellent!
I'll be shipping out a couple of thousand books......nice to know that folks have had no problems with that.
