Shipping advice for couple of boxes please
 

Have searched and not come up with the info I need so bear with me :D

John Mason's were brilliant for bringing 99% of our stuff over (well, it will be delivered on Tuesday, so will know for sure then) but when we came to pack the suitcases we found we had stacks of stuff. Put the excess in two boxes (probably about 2foot sq by 3ft high) and left them with a friend.

OT slightly but Singapore are fab if you have one way tickets and no migrant weight allowance, we thought we were over very slightly and it wasn't until we got to the hotel at Singapore that we found the four cases weighed in at 97k instead of the 80 and our four hand luggage bags each weighed about 12k :scared: but Singapore Air said nothing on both legs :cool:

Anyway back to my query - is there a company that is reliable, has good feedback that will just take two boxes and not take months to do it?

Has anyone done airfreight for a couple of boxes or got a web site that will give a vague indication of price?

All sensible advice gratefully received :D

HI THERE,

We were the same too much stuff not enough to get into cases. I had to get my mum to send 3 boxes over. It cost about £300 took about 7 weeks then we had to pay the quarrantine which was about $160.

Hi Moneypen

We used Seven Seas to ship 8 boxes from UK to Oz and I would recommend them. Everything arrived in perfect condition and they were very easy to deal with. Their website has a price list and you can get a quote online.

We also had too much left over and just handed it in to Excess Baggage in the terminal at Heathrow airport. Took just over a week for it to arrive and didn't cost too much. It was priced by weight, not size.

Thanks for the info guys. Just trying to remember what we stuffed in the boxes to decide if we can wait 8 weeks or if we want to pay the extra to get it by air. On the other hand, if we have done without it for a month we probably don't need it at all but don't think my friend who's got the boxes would thank me if I left it with her forever :D

If u sent with airmail Most company's charge by weight and should only take max of 2 weeks.Try Anglo pacific.co.uk
