Re: shipping

If you contact any of the main shippers they'll be happy to give you a price. We got quotes from Pickford, John Masons, Anglo Pacific and Doree Bonner and are going with John Masons as they're the cheapest for our 40 boxes (around £1000).

Could you tell me what size the boxes were, please, and did you pack them yourselves (including ornaments and crockery)?

Many thanks.

Sure! (I'll try and attach the doc to this reply)

The boxes come in different sizes but as far as I know (we haven't had our final quote yet) we are charged by volume so it's up to us what kind of boxes we use and how many, as long as we're under a certain volume. We're packing everything ourselves (books, CD's, DVD's, photo albums, some kitchen stuff, ornaments & clothes) as it's cheaper and we wanted to do it gradually.

hope that helps! I'm sure there are plenty of others who have actually shipped who can give you a better idea on the costing, as I say we haven't had our final quote yet.

Well, as I say we haven't had our final quote yet so we're hoping not to get a nasty shock but that's what the initial quote was. Fingers crossed...
