Well - it didn't have batteries - it was a heavy duty plug in one.

The container was over 4 weeks late, though this had more to do with the French dockers going on strike and blocking it in Le Havre than the firm's fault. However it was the most pricy quote at over £8000 for a 40 foot container. Luckily OH's firm paid!!
We used Atlantic. Thankfully nothing missing, only 1 teapot broken and by far the cheapest quote.
Clear 4 bed house, store for 3 months, later clear 2 bed house, put them altogether and ship to Adelaide , store for a further 2 months.- $3500 for a 20ft container.

It was a jewellery box that i never had chance to get out of the house they packed everything so quickly it was thrown in the bottom of a box with tools so the leather jewellery case is ruined but everything inside was there and not broken. I can't believe how well the pictures and furniture were packed and all other stuff so badly packed. It looks like two companies have done it.

We used Burke Bros and it's been a nightmare. I've already posted about them so I won't repeat it all again as it gets my blood boiling. Here is the link to my previous post about Burke Bros.

If you think you have seen bad packing then check out this video for a small sample of the damage we suffered as a result of Burke Bros poor packing...

Our problems with them are ongoing and we are documenting it a blog - Burke Bros International Movers Review

Well to be honest it was not just the jewelry box that got damaged with there bad packing as I said before the pictures and furniture were well packed but our boxes were packed just like your video shows, we had a printer threw in a box with parts of a patio heater and the scanner was all smashed as for our books this is the one that gets me so angry they were just dumped in boxes like yours, funny thing is I packed a load myself before they arrived and not one of them has been bent or damaged.
We had that Ben guy come round to us and he is very good at his job could sell ice to eskimos but as for the rest of them useless.

P.S never heard of Burke Bros!!
As a follow up to my original post about us using John Mason.
Like others with a shared container, ours took a few weeks to exit the UK.
It arrived at Sydney 19th January 09 - it was March 5th when it was delivered to us - by now on the Central Coast in a virtually empty house -by Kents.

After unpacking we found lots of stuff missing - althouth the box count was as signed for and only the boxes checked by customs showed signs of being opened and re-sealed.

So, goods in our house in UK..packers arrive - 2 days later leave..all our stuff NOT in house. Arrives in OZ stuff not in sealed boxes.
Anybody any offers on how it went missing?

Do I regret cancelling Crown after a recomend for John Mason???
