To Ship or not to Ship
 

Hello All

After some advice from you lucky lot already there if possible. We have had a quote to ship all our furniture etc and would be around £4000. Now the questions is, is it worth it. In reality we don't have that much expensive stuff. A good leather sofa and a decent bed etc and then all the usually IKEA stuff and things we have acumolated over time. I have looked on a few websites like Super A Mart and have roughly seen that for $7000 I could replace most of what we have. What it's hard to see is what's the quality like is it any good.

In hindsight is there anybody who has shipped furniture and wished they had not bothered or vise versa.

Any advice gratefully recieved. I'm off to turn the heating up and turn on all the lights as it's 4pm and dark here you lucky sods. So if you can drag yourselves away from the pools & BBQ's please help!!!!!!!!

You should definatley look through all your stuff, do you need to take everything? I have reduced my quote by loads because I know what I need & what I dont need having moved to OZ before, plus get loads of quotes from lots of companies, dont just go by the company everyone else is using. & yes I do think it is better to ship than to buy new, because I hate shopping!!!! its stressful enough emmigrating, the last thing I wanna do is start going round the shops for a washing machine etc!!!!
