Took me 5 weeks (and in that time I turned down a couple of jobs as well), so I ticked the one month box coz it was a lot nearer than the next option

True, but I only have a temporary visa and could have to leave my home in 2 years

Seeing as you ask so nicely. Took me 2 weeks. The agency that placed me said I was very lucky to get placed so fast. I reckon it was more than luck. I'm just too good

yes , 2 weeks to get a job in a new country is extremly fantastic, but what is your profession, and where did you land in Oz

martywild is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Re: Share your OZ experience pleeeeeeeeeeease

6 weeks for me so far and nothing yet! Mind you, the first 2 or 3 weeks were spent sorting the logistics out (kids schools, car, house etc..) and doing the beach thing and so have only been looking seriously for 3 weeks or so.
Still, I'm finding it really frustrating. I apply and get quick, positive responses from recruitment consultants only to be let down within a few days.

Any tips on getting a job would be appreciated!
