Couple of questions:-
1. what is it like in the Shalvey area of NSW, as we have been looking at property on the real estate site and it looks quite nice.
2. Has anyone moved to Austrlia/Sydney to work on the railway

Shalvey does not have a good reputation. It's one of the suburbs that has the cheapest real estate in the whole of the city - and there's a good reason for that. A lot of the housing is housing commission or ex-housing commission (ie council houses) and there have been associated problems. The local High school at Mount Druitt is famous for having the worst Year 12 results in the whole state a few years ago.

There are nicer places to live.
