A note to all of you lovely people moving to Perth or newly arrived. There are a couple of regular meets here in the Northern Suburbs :
Tuesday 12noon The Boat, Mindarie and Thursday 12noon, The Quay Cafe, Hilarys All are welcome, don't be shy, we have all been in the same position of landing in a strange place with few (if any friends or relatives). Most of us are fairly recently migrants. If you fly Singapore with an unstamped visa and a oneway ticket and no stop overs you get 40kgs each - it is best to email them and they will send you an email back confirmng this and for you to printout and take to the airport with you.
On the email they had said "call this number to confirm your details for us to grant you extra baggage" so we called the number & they wouldn't confirm it or send us any proof of confirmation, they just said if you have the right Visa & you have a 1 way ticket you will get the extra allowance. |

Well its time to say goodbye to all in UK, we are waiting for the taxi to take us upto Heathrow,staying the night and then flying tomorrow. Good to here the Effys are in singapore safely. See you all in OZ. Phillip. |

Can you add us to your list too. Would be great to meet some fellow brits in Perth. We are Tony(33) Maintenance Engineer, Lisa(33) housewife, Hayden(3), Kobi (11 mths). We are planning to head for south Perth possible Secret Harbour/Mandurah in Jan 08. Lisa

Traffic does get mad around the Bowl but I live at the other end so doesn't affect me.
we lodged our application in April and Meds and Pcc in Aug so just waiting.
