You can see why we have electorates now. If the leader was chosen on a simple majority it would take weeks to determine the outcome every election (in the absence of comprehensive e-voting).

Anyone else notice the lack of stories in the press. The parties must be really trying to muzzle their MPs. It is almost pleasant considering non of them had much to say on policy and were more interested in backstabbing.

Bookies View is Coalition to win : $3.10 on a labor thats a high payout (!)

Both leaders continue to hold talks with the independents as bookies shorten the odds for a Coalition win. It is now $1.35 favourite to form minority government, while Labor has blown out to $3.10, according to Centrebet

I can't believe you are suggesting that the Australian media have such little integrity...

I think that the "Green Deal" shows that Gillard and Labor will try anything to retain power.

I hope so. As much as I dislike Gillard and Labor, I dislike the Greens more. It will be interesting to see what secret deals they have done if, heaven forbid, they manage to get into power.

Surely it was obvious as soon as the hung parliament was known that the Greens MP would get into bed with Labor - it will hardly have come as a shock to the other independents.

No doubt all of the independents will be getting offered secret deals by both sides.

Finding partners to govern is normal practise in a democracy where there is a hung parliament. What is the issue?

On the other side we have country people cutting deals for the libs to get power. Either the system is wrong or both sides are power hungry.
