Default Sending extra luggage - advice on shipping companies???

Hi All

We are looking into shipping cases / bags over to Oz and wondered if anyone could recommend good companies for us?

We are travelling to Oz through Asia (spending a couple of months back-packing... one last blow out before we 'settle down' he he) so only want to travel light and ship the rest over to a friends house - hopefully to be there when we land!

Has anyone else done this? Can you recommend any companies? How long does it take etc etc etc...

Any advice GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks a mill

Emma

Have a look at freedom shipping that is who we have just placed order with they deliver the boxes for you to pack and collect them when you have finished and we think they are reasonably priced

Hi,
I used DHL to send over 2 cases. Both cases the huge size and crammed to capacity. Took about 6 days door ro door and cost about £140 for both. Well worth it I thought.

We used Excess Baggage to send several boxes and two suit cases by air-freight. Took a week door to door. Have a look on their web site for prices:

We used GBLiners for our house bits - about 30 boxes, they do small loads to full containers...
was about £600 for 30 boxes. is taking upto 3mths...

We ended up having to use Excess baggage at Heathrow, was £900 for 6small cases, 1 v large case, a holdall and a snooker cue. It was ment to take a week - took a month!

Gina

Ask them for a quote and then you will get loads of companies quoting for you. You can then pick the cheapest.

Update:

I have rec'd quotes from all the Companies you guys recommended (Many thanks by the way!)

The best is from J A Coles (Removal Contractors) Ltd - basically because they dont go by weight, only dimensions as its by sea... Has anyone used these before? Any good / bad stories to tell before I box up my existence?

Thanks a mill!!
