has anyone have a recommendation for a good financial advisor to use in perth for help setting up a smsf

I wouldn't use a financial advisor at all. I would go to esuperfund.com.au and do it myself, there are others too.

As ossigeno said, don't use a financial advisor - they're only going to tell you stuff that you can find out yourself - and have a look at esuperfund. When I was looking at doing a SMSF, I was going to use them - and they were offering 3 years free compliance and auditing fees. In the end I never bothered with a SMSF and stayed in the industry system. Vanguard super is coming this year too - and that's going to be a game changer
