Default self employed and mortgages

How difficult is it to get a mortgage in Australia
when you are self employed?
I always intended on getting down to finding a job
on arrival to Australia which means us living close
to large towns or cities. The nature of what I do means
I can work from home (internet based) so location is
not the issue it was.

Thing is I am worried about being able to get a mortgage.
We don't have loads of cash for a deposit.

Have any of you been in a similar situation?

Scotty

We're in the same position - Internet business etc ... we got a lo-doc loan without too many problems, but we did have a fair bit to put down as a desposit - I suspect this will be your main stumbling block.
