Secret Harbor, Perth

Newly arrived with 3 small children and a husband, finding it it difficult to locate anything interesting for the children and myself in the immediate area.

Searching the internet hasn't bought many results, is there anyone out there with information.

What sort of things?

There's Marapana wildlife park five mins away. Penguin Island in Rockingham is fab for a day out. Mandurah foreshore is always nice for a play and dolphin watching with an ice cream. There are cinemas in Rocky and Mandurah. There are a few indoor play centres dotted around...

Depends on the age of the kids really.

Shame you didn't join last week - a lot of Secret Harbour residents had a big get together in Kings Park.

Thanks for that but have already done Marapana, beaches, dolphins and whales. Cinemas are out as we have three kids 5 and under. Cinemas are out really as don't have anyone to babysit at moment, having to wait for rellies to come over for that one!!!!

Penguin Island is on the cards but when the weather gets a little better as I hate dodging showers - did enough of that in UK!!!

Have you joined the playgroup? That's probably the best way to get involved, meet people and take it from there. What sort of things did you used to do in the UK? Chances are there's all the same things out there - and a few nicer ones that take advantage of the good weather (when it arrives).

There's loads to do right on the doorstep.... just because you've 'done' the beaches, doesn't mean there's not tons more to see and do along the coast.

Hi,

There is the Royal Perth Show on this weekend for a week, animals, shows, lots of kids things, fairground rides etc see the paper out on sat or go to the tourist info, Mandurah has a very good one. They'll be more than happy to help. Also there is Adventure land which is near freemantle.

I agree with the warnbro aqua jetty, a great facility. There is also a indoor play area just down the road from us, not quite sure of the name, near the port kennedy roundabout, at the end of warnbro sound ave. will find out the name for you

Its called the fun warehouse, there's also one (fun factory) on Gordon Road in Mandurah. Had a 3rd birthday last week!!!!! Thank you for that.

Aqua Jetty is a bit difficult for me, I'm at home all day one at Kindy, I'm not sure if I could handle two none swimmers in the water at the same time. Knowing my luck they would float in different directions!!! LOL

Hopefully heading off to Royal Show during school hols also the little nippers children's festival in Mandurah week after next......
