Secondary schools North Sydney or Inner West
Would anyone have advice on secondary schools in northern areas of Sydney (Lindfield, Gordon, Killara, St Ives etc) as we are looking at a move this year from the UK and have one child soon to go into Y7. We have called around at a number of independent schools and found they are all full for 2018. This is no surprise and the same as it would be in the UK - we figured it was worth trying.
We have no experience of state schools in NSW and would be grateful for any advice. We prefer a smaller school for our child which is why we were looking at privates. We are also open to living in the inner west areas if we can afford it (Summer Hill, Petersham, Stanmore etc) but there seem to be less state schools and same issue with independents being fully subscribed (some for a number of years).
Our rental budget is around 1,300 per month so need to consider affordability, proximity to CBD for work and schools…
Thanks in advance for any advice!
