Scout Association
Can anyone please advise me my little boy of 7 is in the Beavers over in the UK and absolutely loves it.
Is there an equivalent type of group for 7 + year olds that he can join when we can get out to Perth please? Many thanks Debbie :) |

Re: Scout Association
Hi
I have also looked in to this, they are called Joey Scouts. they go from age 6 to 8, it looks like it is similar to the beavers but they do not look to do as much badge work as they do in beavers. I am sure that my lad will join if we get over to Oz. Morchie |

Many thanks Debbie :) We are in Qld but both my boys were beavers and scouts in UK and have now joined Cubs and Scouts here, they do far more activities here than they did in the Uk. However be warned it aint as cheap as the UK either, we were used to paying £1.50 per week, we now pay $35 per term each, 4 a year then $140 each per year annual membership and also $100 participation levy per family, you can get this knocked off by contributing a certain amount of hours helping out. Camps and other activities are paid for per activity, usually $80 ish per camp. Not sure if WA is the same! Hope this helps |
Re: Scout Association
Mumbles is in scouts, they dont do nearly as much badge stuff.. They are ALWAYS going away, doing activites outside the usual days ... He has intellectual disability but he's very active and loves it...
