What area are you planning to settle in? It's like looking for a needle in a haystack, there are so many suburbs. Can't wait to go and have a nosey around.

Looking for a good family suburb - 2 kids aged 9 & 6.

Hello Joyce,

I havn't been on this site too often recently - application going a little slow. Was also at a previous Glasgow meet (from kilmarnock) and would certainly be up for another, anyway, my wife and I, are also holidaying in Brisbane (& perth) in July. What are your dates and maybe we could have a brisbane meet also

Too all,

someone needs to suggest a date/time/place...........

so first suggestion and see how the numbers go, is............ Sat 18th Jun 2pm @ HotShots, therefore, kids are optional.

Paul.

I have noticed in the past you are better at night as there is quite a few working on Saturdays . Why not make it a little later, even 5pm or 6pm. only a suggestion.

Hi Paul & Family

Brisbane & Perth - you are brave doing both in one trip.

We haven't booked flights yet as we were told by Emirates the 'last minute' the better, we are hoping to go Emirates via Dubai as we are stopping there on the way back for a holiday.

Have been in Melbourne and didnt' like the unpredictable weather so it's been a toss up between Perth & Brisbane and I think we have decided on Brisbane as Perth although very beautiful etc just felt very isolated for us. Do you have kids? What stage are you at in your application?

What are your dates for Brisbane, perhaps we could arrange a meet there!!!
Will keep you posted on our dates.

Joyce
PS don't know where Hotshots is but date and time sound fine.

Hi Carole - the Oz bar is called Walkabout - that would be a good idea and you can usually get sitting on big comfy leather sofa's too - at least Walkabout is close to the bus station etc.

Any updates on this? Has anyone decided on a venue and willing to move this forward?

I don't think Hotshots is ideal ( if anyone is interested Hotshots is in The Keys on the South Side )

I'd have loved a good old Scottish night out, but it's a bit far to come. Maybe once those of you Perth bound get here we can arrange a get together for you, we seem to have attracted a fair few Scottish members

I just looked up Yell to see where it was and not really suitable for most people I would imagine. But then again Walkabout probably isn't either. The chances of getting near the bar for a drinks are impossible most weekend nights, never mind getting a seating area!

Somewhere quieter, maybe a brewsters that has a play area or something so if people feel they need to bring their kids then they can!

I don't know any of those type of places in the city centre though, anyone???

You will probably find most places are busy on a Saturday night, I put a thread up Glasgow meet time and place and there seems to be a few interested in THe Walkabout at 6pm. As I say it doesnt always suit everyone but you have to try and the ozzie bar any time we have been in on a Sat. always got a seat.
