There are two meet ups arranged for Glasgow and Aberdeen in September, both can be found in the meet up forum. There is a few of us up for meeting at the moment but surely there has got to be more lurking (guests) who would like to meet up with other like finded folk? Having attended a few of them myself in the last year I would really recommend them as a great place to gain info on your future home and to meet potential friends. Come on don't be shy!!
