Default Schools in Melbourne

Hi
Coming to Melbourne next year and would like anyones opinion on different schools in the Melbourne area ie recommendations for kids 6,5 & how compare to English schools.

also Melbourne is a huge area- it is a bit like asking which are the best schools in London (similar size area).

Do you have any other requirements like access to work?

Looking at around south, south east area, around Berwick, Beaconsfield.
But if there are better schools in different areas that people know about that might change our thinking on where to live. Work situation is that i am a chippie so hopefully area we live in should'nt make too much difference.
