School Uniforms in Perth
Hope someone can point me in the right direction My 2 girls will be starting Primary school in Perth at the end of April. I have been told that I can buy my uniforms from the schools but what about shoes? Do kids wear 'school shoes' (ie. black/navy Clarks-type) or just trainers? They'll be going to state school. They need new shoes now and I'd rather get them ones that they can wear to school in Aus too.
Cheers

You'll have to ask the school. At my kid's primary school they can wear either smart school shoes or trainers.

The only real restriction the school had was a ban on thongs/flip flops/toepost sandals.

Re: School Uniforms in Perth
Our primary is pretty typical of the 'better' government schools, I think. We have a strict uniform policy but it doesn't cover shoes -only shirts, shorts/skirts & hats.
Most kids wear trainers or sandals. Sandals are OK even through most of the winter, other than wearing out :-( A few go for the Aussie elastic sided boot in the winter. No thongs. The black leather school shoes look smarter & may be better for feet, but I don't think I've ever seen a kid wearing them at our school...
