Default School leaving age

Hi my lad will be 15 when we move to Cairns and I was wondering if anyone could tell me the school leaving age.

Don't know if it's the same everywhere in QLD but all the schools around here expect you to stay on in Grade 11 and 12 unless you have an Apprenticeship or Traineeship to go to at the end of Grade 10 or if the child has a place at TAFE.

Obviously some give up with no plans but they are in a small minority.
