Default school league tables for Sydney

I am on the verge of convincing Mich to stay here to get citizenship (in about 3 years time), but we will have to move out of our current place due to finaces...

Ellie will reach school age before then, so I was hoping to find a list of how the public schools on the lower north shore fare against eachother, in order that we can consider the best location for the next home....

If anyone can point us in the direction of a league table or equivalent for public schools (no chance of affording private one!) that would be great..

Cheers

S

Short answer is that there are none - not available in the public domain anyway - though I have no doubt that the Department has their own list.

If you were wanting to know about High Schools then you can normally get the HSC Results stats which show which schools had the most amount of high achievers - but for Primary schools there's nothing around.

Frankly, the best think to do is ask around locally (like everyone used to do in the UK before such things as League tables existed). You're on the lower North Shore so you'll probably find that all schools are much of a muchness. Can't imagine there'd be much trouble there with naff teachers or nasty kids.

Thanks Nicky, I thought that may be the case...
Will ask round our mates in the area, but most of them will be sending their kids to private schools so will have focussed on that!
(oh to be rich!)

Well the Nth Shore is well known for its quality schools so you should do OK.

THe SMH publishes tables for HSC results but I couldn't actually find any online but I'm sure they do.

For primary I guess results tables aren't as important - as others have said ask around to get an idea of reputation etc. good luck!
