SBS World Cup Crisis

Have got a bit of a problem with SBS which I haven't got round to fixing in the past year or so......poor reception. Other 4 channels are fine. Given the pending tournament drastic action is needed.

Does any one out there know if I bought a digital set-top box whether all my poor quality SBS problems will be resolved?

Don't really want to call an aerial specialist out due to extortion. Am tempted to get wife on roof to make antenna adjustments while I shout up instructions.

Thanks - SZ

Buy a set top box and see my signal was very weak due to the wall socket , put a new one on cost less than $10.
Now get a very good digital picture sbs included.
If no good take the box back no worries :D

Most of the channels I received were pretty poor. I now have a digital set top box and they are all crystal clear. Your poor picture may be a result of a weak signal or ariel problem but if you are receiving a decent picture on the other channels then maybe the set top box will do the trick. You can pick up a cheap one for about $75 but if you want a better quality picture then spend a bit more. Hope that helps.

The Socceroos game was poor quality on our TV and we normally get SBS quite good. Reckon they were using 1970's cameras or something!!.

SBS normally comes in the strongest in Aus..... It's the only channel that broadcasts in UHF, as opposed to VHF for all the others.

It should be a very simple Ariel fix..... try some rabbits ears.... believe or not it could and should work.

I get SBS pretty well on the portable with a loop aerial. Definitely worth a few $ on an internal aerial.
