as the same question gets asked 10 times a week..

perhaps we could all add to this list(posted by a member who has lived in perth) and we could all find some common ground ...

good and bad about perth...

The Good:

Travel brochure beaches
Friendly people
Cheap petrol
Free BBQ's
Wildlife
Drive in cinemas
Abundance of cultures
Fantastic restaurants
Drive through bottle shops
Mediterranean climate
The Swan Valley
Customer service
The South West
Lightening shows
loads of construction jobs

The Bad:

Housing costs..all ready taken into account in my case..
Rental costs
Freeway gridlock....i will be heading home before it starts to build up..
Traffic lights
Hoons..i will try and pick a hoon free road, place to live..
Public transport
Second hand car prices
Lack of nightlife
Expensive beer
Dodgy schooling...
Worst driver standards ... (anywhere)
Supermarket hours of opening
Longer working hours ...shorter in my case,no more working weekends..
Isolation
Northbridge by night
Holden Commodores (pre-2000)
The Airport..i intend to use it once and thats on the way in..
Flight prices "home"..not applicable...
The telly...

Make your own mind up.

I think it's probably the safety thing. It's an area where many people have been mugged. They have bee trying to clean it up, but I'm not sure how successful that has been.

The Good:

The Rivers
Fremantle
Gum Trees
Size of cheese & bacon savouries compared to UK. Strictly speaking that's bad, but who cares.
Public transport (compared to where I am)
Places to eat
King's Park
Houses that don't all look the same

The Bad:
Crows
2 pin plugs
Laughable pedestrian facilities

Good luck on that one, you'll find most roads suffer from hoons at one point or another, the best you can do is avoid the hotspots that they tend to frequent on a regular basis

Yes you are wrong, we live on a very quiet estate here and even we are subjected to the screeching of tyres occasionally. Like I said all you can really do is try and avoid the hotspots.
