same day visa
Hi Everyone
Hubby,s medical is in 2weeks and we are just waiting for the police check to come back. We have decided to have his spouse visa done on the same day as presenting our application.
Anyone who has already done this , please could they tell me how long the wait is for this type of appointment. Is is weeks. I hope not.
Thanks a bunch

I would expect a 4-6 week wait for an appointment.
I emailed in January and was told contact us when you have medical results+Police checks.
We returned from a holiday(in Sydney) on 4th Feb, had medicals on the 7th. Results by 18th. Given an appointment on 21st March. 45 imins later had the visa!
Easy process and I would recommend front loading!

Would Oz House not give you an appointment until you had received you medicals etc?
Also did they interview you at all or was it just as case of handing over your documents?
Lastly(sorry for all the questions) did you have to provide proof of your financial situation?

Hi,
Had to have the medicals/police check results before application. The reason givene was that some medicals equire further info/could take a long time to come back.
Just handed over the documents-don't bother with fancy binders/layouts they don't use 'em! Even indexes are ignored!
I did provide details of finacial situation as didn't want to go thru dreaded form 28 process.
Good luck

Hi Sally,
If you read the "Aus & NZ Immigration" forum, there is a thread from last Friday(21st MArch) , called "How to successfully apply for a fiance visa" which is very helpful - will probably answer some questions for you!
I've been told not to request an appointment until I have had my medical done and have all papers ready to submit, and have been warned that there is probably about a five week wait for an appointment.
Good luck
