Question Salary expectations for Hairdressers - Brisbane?

Hi

Wonder if anyone can help. Trying to get a rough idea of what sort of salary would be available to hairdressers in Brisbane? Have done various searches on some of the job websites but no luck so far.

Hope someone on here can help.

Regards

This is what someone posted to me, when I asked about wages for hairdressers in Brisbane:

The level of classification and weekly salary payable to employees in the Southern Division, Eastern District will be as follows: Southern Division, Eastern District"

Classification Award Rate Per Week
Level 1 - $ 465.10
Level 2 - $ 490.10
Level 3 - $ 542.20
Level 4 - $ 552.60
Level 5 - $ 563.00
Level 6 - $ 583.90
this info from QLD state awards - Hairdressers

Hope this helps!

Something like this might be worth a search, I think it is like the job centre in the UK, might give you pointers.

Good luck

My sons girlfriends a hairdresser and unfortunately the above figures sound correct, its very low paid, shop and childcare workers get similar rates too.

However some of the big hairdressing chains pay more to senior staff search on Stefan, John le court, I think they have websites regarding training and job ops.

We are heading for Brisbane - I know its a big place - not sure which suburbs to live in yet but hopefully somewhere in the city.

Thanks and regards

There are only two Hairdresser jobs in our local paper, just outside Brisbane, this week, one needs a senior Stylist quoting $40k plus bonuses. The other doesn't state a figure, but it's in Raby Bay, where everything is expensive

hi atticus,im a hairdresser myself heading for brisbane and ive spoken to a couple of salon owners who come from brisbane and it seems to me that although the wages might not seem to high they sre still much higher than the uk,and i dont think you ll have any trouble getting a jod,as it seems that british hairdressers are quite sort after so ive been told, ive had 3 people so far soay to ring them just before i go regarding jobs, cant be bad and i havent even applied for any yet.

keep in touch and let me know how you get on,tracey
