Default Safely in Brisbane

Hi All,
Been a while........does anyone know whats happened to KellyT ??
Met them at the Kent meet but they seem to have dropped off the planet.

For those that don't know us - Wife, Lisa, two children and a third due in a few weeks.
Been in Brisbane for a month now. Moved lock stock and barrel from Kent.
Shipped all our stuff, not yet arrived - did you know it takes upto three weeks to unload a ship that size. No one told me until now.
Two kids are in a school , having swimming lessons etc.
Been to the Royal Womens Hospital to have babe check alls well. Lisa is booked in for Oct 5th.
Bought a car, a house.

Shipped a motorbike as well, and the dog.

Just passed our driving tests.

We treked around a fair bit to. Spent 5 days in Melbourne. Flew in via Hong Kong - excellent place.
Been up and down most of the sunshine coast. Been a around the city - went to Riverfest for the opening fireworks - brilliant.

So if anyone wants any questions aswered please feel free to PM us.

Hi Dazza,

Sounds like you're loving it.

I'm particularly interested in the Sunshine Coast as a *home*. Any towns along the way which seemed attractive to a young family ?

Cheers

Always a dodgy question.
Depends what your wish list is - then it depends what your budget will run to then it depends what you like and dislike when you actually get here. Looking at houses on the internet is nothing like seeing them in real life.
Do either of you have to work? ...will you need to work in the city??
There are lost of "nice" places , not sure how they would be to live in though.
I notice there are a few people on this forum who do actually live on the sunshine coast who would be better qualified.
But give me something more to go on and I may be able to help.

Hi Darren and Lisa

I'm glad your all settled into your new lives already, didn't take you long and you sound like your very well organised!
Were from Margate in Kent and will hopefully (fingers crossed) be in Brisbane for Feb - March next year
My other half is having to sell his beloved bike as we thought it would be alot more hassle to ship it accross, did you find it a pain and if you don't mind me asking how much did it cost??
Were also taking our Rhodesian Ridegeback dog with us, who did you send your dog with and did they cope with the journey ok?? Sorry for so many questions, I probably should have PM'd you.

All the best

Marie and Paul
